Dr. Roets is a psychologist, life-skills trainer and life coach specialising in individual, student, adult counselling and coaching. She maintains a private practice in Menlo Park, Pretoria, Gauteng (South Africa).

Dr. Roets has had a strong calling to help people for as long as she can remember. Her academic qualifications and love of people have led her on the most wonderful adventures, both locally and internationally. She has a Master’s degree in Educational Psychology and obtained her Doctorate in Medical Hypnoanalysis, and also obtained an Advanced Diploma in Medical Hypnoanalysis and Ego-state Therapy. Dr. Roets has studied and trained extensively in experiential psychotherapy, gestalt therapy, behavioural therapy, cognitive-behavioural therapy, as well as emotionally focused therapy.

She is registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa and have signed their code of ethics.

Dr. Roets attends workshops, congresses and courses on an ongoing basis to stay well informed on the latest developments. In 1994, she gained intensive experience in the United States at the Ohio Institute of Medical Hypnoanalysis in Akron.

Dr. Susan Roets has 26 years experience as a psychologist and a hypnotherapist. She is an interactive, straightforward, and solution-focused counsellor and works with a broad spectrum of clients. Her approach is to provide support and practical feedback to help her clients effectively address their personal life challenges. Dr. Roets has been interviewed for various magazine articles on different topics. The latest article, about eating disorders (anorexia and bulimia), appeared in the Afrikaans magazine Rooi Rose in September 2008. Other articles have appeared in You/Huisgenoot and Sarie magazines.

Past experience:

Prior to starting her own practice, she earned her BA HED qualification at the University of North West in Potchefstroom, South Africa. Dr. Roets was a teacher for nine years and taught in more than seven public high schools around South Africa. She also worked as an educational psychologist at the Department of Education for three years.
